    MY BIG DAD
    Friday, 20th November, 2015

    Dear diary,

Today, He has just taught me that no matter how bad our country is, we may still love it because it’s where we were born. So interesting!

I feel very lucky to be born in a family which has many great teachers who always have enthusiasm and keep thoroughness through ups and downs of their lives. Of course, He is also one of them who is such wonderful .

Personally, I enjoy meeting him everyday and I’m doing it now. To me, He is the first teacher, the second father, the most enthusiastic supporter of me on every step of the way I go. In my eyes, despite not having long beard, He is the most fantastic Buddha. Now, He has 72-year longevity; however, He is still an elegant man with 1m72 in height, besides, he has the hair as white as freight. I really love looking at his white short hair and think of what my Big teacher have done in his past. His most special feature is that in winter, He always wears a brown beret which I often take from his head and wear on my own head from morning to lunch, from noon to afternoon, from afternoon to evening. This teacher plays an important role in my whole life.Yes, this man is my maternal Grandfather.

My Grandpa is a senior lecturer of Water Resources University, an excellent party member, a man who is incorruptible and honest all his life. Therefore, He always gets other people’s respect and college students even call him “ Big Dad ”, which is a beloved name. The older I grow up, the more deeply I admire him. In my 5th birthday , He bought me an awesome colour set and said: “ Do whatever you want “. And I did. I'm naughty, I'm not good, I’m a crybaby. At such times, He just looked at me with disapproving eyes.Truthfully, because of being too small, I couldn’t predict completely the thoughts contained in his bright but solemn eyes. He wasn’t like other grandparents. He loves me, but never pampers me unduly. Hence, in the eyes of a five-year-old child, he was quite harsh and albeit loving him, I'm still a little afraid of him.

When I began to learn writing, because my parents were too busy, Grandpa is the caretaker of the six-year-old giddy’s practising letters. I was at the age of 6, which meant he was 60 years old . His trembling right hand held his granddaughter’s tiny right hand and made mine also tremble. As a result, each of my words looks like wagging worms and in the evening, when my mother came back home, she had no choices but forcing me to rewrite. Whenever finding distorted letters , he laughed indulgently and said: “ Me clumsily anyway “, then continued taking my hand. Scripts were such distorted, skewed lines were several, but I didn’t know why it was still filled with so much care and love.

When I was 15 years old, He gave me first coins and said, "Let's spend reasonably". You can not imagine how happy I was since it was the first time that I was allowed to spend money. Nevertheless, I answered that venerable man back stubbornly in those teenage years, which made me regret ever after.

At the age of 18, when that Big teacher still teaches me new lessons, I finally understand his meaningful heart, absolutely. His educational method is soft but tough, stern but forgiving, gentle but powerful. He teaches me lessons in class, lessons of love, lessons of satisfaction, and precious lessons along my lifelong way. Not only is he a teacher while standing on the podium, but he was also the first teacher in the heart of this grandchild.

Sitting here and writing these memories down into my diary, I suddenly wanna hug him as tightly as possible. I and my Big Dad have experienced such beautiful years. Lessons he taught, is teaching and will teach me are my invaluable luggage. Also, I promise myself to become a person like him.

I wish I knew how to let him know my gratitude. I feel for him my dear teacher but just can't say. So I hope these diary’s pages will at least show a part of my warmest appreciation that is coming from the bottom of my heart.

Now, I am closing this diary pages to run to his side and give him a secret gift on occasion of Vietnam Teacher’s Day.

    Bye bye my diary…
