In recent years, the environmental problems are becoming seriously for many industrialised countries and attaching the global attention. We recognize the fact that some countries tend to increase economic growth and improve people's living standards having a negative impact on the environment.

There are some opinions that any country just prioritizingly develops its economy then they will be able to get higher budget spending to cope with environmental problems. In fact, the miraculously developing economy is not able to compensate in order to completely deal with the environmental issues, taking the top develoing economic rate - Bejing, China for example. According to economic specialists, Beijing’s GDP recently has icreased dramatically by over 300 times compared with the 30 years ago. Along with improvement of living standards, nearly 5 million cars producing the most enormous emissions for Bejing, which makes it become the world's worst air quality (information provided by UN). Taking VN as an another example of environmental damage, which is rated one of the fastest growing economy in Asia - Pacific regions with the average growth rate over 7% during the period 2001 to 2010 (statistics provided by Vietnam’s GSO). Nevertheless, its environmental pollution is getting more worse and Vietnam is one of five countries which is most affected by climate change.

On the other hand, the economic development and environmental protection can be guaranteed simultaneously, take the case of Singapore island for example. According to its environmental policies, official problems of pollution are prevented. Concretely, the land planning is used reasonably, the development of construction is controlled strictly. Moreover, collecting and disposaling waste equipments is reinforced… In addition, environmental awareness of Singapore’s community is enhanced significantly through environmental education programs from kindergarden to university. In fact, Singapore presently be considered as an asian dragon of economies and on the environment impacts, this island is recognized as the world’s cleanest country.

From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that the economic development cannot avoid the negative effects on the environment, but each country can minimize the environmental degradation by many different solutions.



Bài 2. Topic 53 of Group 1:
One of the global matters about which government officials as well as environmentalists should be very much concerned is how the importance of environmental protection in the economic development goals. In point of fact, a number of people harbour a view that hardly is a country able to ameliorate the living standard without environmental sacrifice.

To a certain extent, the suggestion does sound convincing as there are a few strong arguments for such a view. One of the main points is that the government of a industrialized country often prioritize making the country become of the attractively investing economy thus, sometimes do they delibrately ignore a great deal of bad influence of the businesses on environment. What is more, for businesses, either large or small, taking the environmental problems into account may encounter the danger of lossing so significant amount of profit due to the fact that they need to pay more expenditure on waste disposal or environmental improvement.

Just the same, not all people come to an agreement on such a matter, and as a matter of fact, there are still people who choose to be of the opposite. One of the arguments which can be made is that a firm which takes environmental consequences seriously, can impel it to improve their product lines, make optimal use of materials and resources, increase the profit margin and make a long-term stable business environment. Besides, customers are today more and more keen on product made from an environmentally conscious business so by adhering to environmental standards, industries will also make a favourable impression on their clients, build up word of mouth reputation and trigger sales.

All in all, there is no doubt that addressing the issue related to the interrilationship between economic development and environmental protection is for certain the thing which need to be taken into serious consideration. All the same, my own opinion is that no country is able to fast get high achievement of development without environmental damages.

yes, I do. You might not know this but I am a biologist at Institute of Biotechnology. Well you know, this is an interesting job.
2. Is your job well-paid?
Actually, my pay is just enough to pay up my life. As a result, I strongly expect that my boss have an increase in pay.
3. Do you use english in your work?
Well, you might not know this but I often use english in my job. I must read articles in sicence magazines which means that I often update my knowledge about biology. In addition to what I have just said, I can add that I often speak the foreign biologists. So you know, English is very neccesary for my job.
4. Do you like your work?
Of course, I like my work very much. When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a biologist. Actually, I like all every things of natural. I can spend a few hours to see the special way that two birds call each others. In my opinion, you also love that.
5. how long have you done this job for?
Well you know, I have done this for 3 months. In fact, it’s quite interesting to consider that I graduated at faculty of biology, Hanoi university of science in May,2011. As soon as, I participated an interview at Institute of Biotechnology and I have had a dreaming work.

1 / Well you know, I’m a sales executive in Sinotrans Container Line. The point I’d like to begin with is that it is a not only strong but also competitive line in Asia. In fact it has many services to transport goods by sea from Vietnam to Japan, Korea and China. In addition to what I’ve just said, I can add that I graduated from Vietnam Maritime University at Sea Transport Economics Department with a Bachelor Degree. So actually this job is suitable with my own major.

2 / Well in actual fact, if I think about it , I guess that in many ways it is not fairly well – paid, especially when you consider that my wage depend on my own turnover. If I exceed my sales target, I’ll get premium and vice versa. But you also have to understand that my carrier brings to me many challenges and experiences. . In fact as a sales executive, I have ability of working under high pressure. So I guess I have many chance to learn and develop my skills. So all in all I guess my answer would have to be yes and no.

3 / Well in actual fact, if I think about it , I guess that in many ways I always use English in my carrier. It goes without saying that English is a part integral in business, especially when you consider in Sea Transport Economics. In fact my company transports goods by sea so all transactions are used in English. For example, I often introduce our services to our customers by email. Actually I update our rates, schedules and necessary information from not only Headquarters ( HQ ) but also other agencies. So actually I need to consolidate English skills for develop my achievements.

4 / Well to be honest, in general I would say that I’m actually quire keen on my job. I guess the reason why I’m a fan of sales is because I adore excelling myself in such a professional environment. Working as a salesman, I have gathered my good knowledge of the market and competitors. As well as this, I have actively contacted to explore new customers and new market trends. Meeting customer has given me confidence and enhance communication skills. In addition to this, I have utilized every opportunity that can help to persuade a new customer. So actually my job is really both challenging and exciting.

5 / Well you know, I have done my job for one year. Well in actual fact, if I think about it , I guess that in many ways, it is neither long nor short time for a salesman. In fact working as a sales executive in one year, there are many successes and failures. So actually they have given me both great lessons and valuable experiences. The most important thing is that they have made me stronger, maturer and more self – motivated. In addition to what I’ve just said, I can add that I want to become a successful businessman in the future. So all in all I guess I try my best for my own brilliant achievements.

1/ Well you know, I often do housework twice for one week and you might not know this but, when I do housework I like listening the music because it makes me comfort.
2/ Well, first of all, the main thing you need to know is that , cutting grass is really a job I do least enjoy in the housework, in fact it takes a lot of time, bored and I am always bite by mosquitoes when doing this job.
3/ On top of that I can also add that , putting the furniture in order are a job I do most enjoy in the housework, which means I like arranging furnitures and cleaning them clearly
4/ Actually, I usually spend from one hour to two hours for doing housework one time.
5/ Something else that I need to comment on is that when I was child, sometimes I help my parents to do some houseworks such as: sweeping the floors, cooking rice…so actually, I am very happy when I could help my parent to do a part of housework

Well, first of all, the main thing you need to know is that currently I am working for a firm assessment of import goods. In fact A job which I feel is suitable only son because we have to work all 24 hours whenever our clients request. On top of that I can also add that Our job is to check and confirm the status, quantity of goods which being brought to the sale. So actually After checking and comparing our complete customer for a set of documents certifying the status and the current number of such goods to the requirement that the parties relied upon as a basis for conducting transactions next trade in goods.

Well in actual fact, if I think about it, I guess that in many ways it’s fairly well – paid.With a new person ,my fixed salary will be from 3 to 5 million VND. But you also have to understand that A part of salary which we receive commission from the customer is a bonus for trying to do our work in work. I live in Hai Phong, a beautiful city here things are not expensive as other cities so that my salary can meet most needs at least my life.

Well in actual fact, if I think about it, I guess that in many ways I always use English in my carrier. In fact my job sometimes uses English to communicate with customers. This is really difficult for my English skill. I always told them that they use simple words so I can understand them. So actually I always send and receive emails by English. Finally, an important feature in my work is that if you use English fluently, you’ll earn more salary than your colleagues.

Well to be honest, in general I would say that I’m actually quire keen on my job. I guess the reason why I’m a fan of my carrier is because I adore excelling my self in professional environment. My work is fairly strenuous than the other office but like my colleagues, I love this work because we understand the role and its importance in protecting the interests of both buyers and sellers in commercial contracts. In addition to this, at the company I work with all young people should be very easy to talk and understand each other. We always help each other and work together to fulfill the tasks assigned to that level.

Well you know, I have worked for five months at the company. Well in actual fact, if I think about it, I guess that in many ways it is not long compared to everyone here but it was enough for me to know and understand most of the work processes. In fact Time of working here I can learn a lot from work and from other colleagues who are honesty, cooperative and creative.

1. How often do you do house work?
I think I would have to say that it really depends on my free time. In school years, this time with me it quite busy, so I just do house work at the weekend. However, during summer, I do house work everyday.
2. Which job do you least enjoy doing in the house?
Well to be honest, I'm not much of a fan of washing dishes. In fact, I don't know exactly why, may be after a meal, I don't want to do any house work.
3. Which job do you most enjoy doing in the house?
Actually to be fair, I'm not good at house work. Therefore, I just want to help my mother to prepare a delicious meal. Well, you might not know this but in that time I feel very happy and close to my mother.
4. How much time do you spend doing house work?
I guess my answer would be determined by diffenrent conditions. Like for instance, on weekdays, I often spend about 30 minutes to do house work and the weekends, may be two ỏ three hours.
5. Did you help with the house work when you were a child?
Of course I think I'd have to say that it's very interesting to help your parents to do house work. You might not know this but when I was a child, I often did house work with my parents, and now I still do that.

Well, you know, I usually do some housework every day, like cleaning the floor, cooking and washing up. Moreover, especially at the weekend, sometimes my mum and I like to decorate the house with the new curtains and cushions. I almost choose the colorful ones because they make our house look more interesting and more delightful. Also, I suppose I should say that I least enjoy feeding the dogs. They often go round my legs happily when being fed, which has caused me to trip and fall one times. In addition, I want to cook as wonderfully as my mum does so I love cooking most. You may not be aware but in fact I do myself proud whenever my dishes are praised as remembering all complicated recipes is really a challenge to me. Actually, I spend total about 3 hours per day to do housework and find it a way to relax after stressful working time. It seems so funny but in fact I often iron the clothes or clean all the windows when I have to think of any problems. Well, maybe you will think that I must be a hard-working person but in fact I used to be quite lazy when I was a child. Sitting on sofa lazily and just paying attention to the movies on television all day were my hobbies. However, now I am lazy no more and love doing housework because it brings me many advantages.

No, I do not. I have two students, and I teach them Mathematic. However, both of them very like to learn English. Sometime, we together talk about how to learn English

I am pretty keen on this job. I suppose I would have to say I have a great experience. Although I am usually angry with them, I like them. They are my friends. I can talk about everything with them. When they pass flying colours, I am very happy.

Well to be honest, I have done this job for 3 years. when I start go to university, my mother allow me to have to good at its.
