A long with the development of society , more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that hosting a major sports competition. Some people believe that it is good for a country but others think it causes a lot of problems for the country. In this topic, I wants to discuss about this issue.
We can’t deny that hosting a major sports is good for a country because of several reasons. Firstly, more and better facilities are built and repaired. It could broadcast the host nation’s international profile and after the event, that country can attract more and more tourists and the investment of other countries. Secondly, the hosting country can benefit income from tourism and business. On the other hand, more jobs are created for building facilities, staffing the events and some new shops will be opened to sell traditional products for tourists.
However, some people argue that it induces a lot of problems for the country. The first reason that can be seen by everyone is that security ricks. For instance, the number of terrorism is increasing. Therefore, the hosting nation will expend a lot of money to control crowds and prevent terrorist attacks. The second, the increased number of foreign people could cause major upset to the daily life of the local people. Besides, finance to build new facilities may be taken from budgets destined for education and health.
I do strongly support the idea that it’s good for developed countries to stage a major sport competition and with developing countries, they need focus more money on education and health. There’re many reasons supporting my view. The developed countries have enough potential to stage a big competition. In contrast, a developing country has to invest huge amounts of resources to organize and build infrastructures. For example, according to Maennig & Du Plessis (2007), pass experiences show that the chance of receiving economic benefits from hosting either the World Cup or the Olympic is surprisingly little. I guess so there’s are many drawbacks for the poor country to host the big competition.
From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw conclusion that hosting a major competition has a lot of pros and cons. Therefore, it should be considered carefully to bring the most benefit for the hosting country.

Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that it is good or bad for a country to host a major sports competition. This essay will show the advantages and disadvantages of hosting international sporting events.

When a country hosts a major sports competition, there are several obvious benefits for economic and community development. Firstly, the modern facilities are built such as stadiums, sport complex, infrastructure and hotels. This will make the country more attractive in the investors’ eyes. As you know, after the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the South Africa have been “put on the map” as an investment destination. Secondly, organizing international sports events is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of the nation, especially its tourism sector. This attracts a large number of tourists. For example, during the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Sydney hosted 362,000 domestic and 110,000 international visitors. Another positive aspect is bringing employment opportunities to citizens. Building stadium and hotels creates jobs for the local economy for up to 4 years before the event. In addition, many new shops will be opened to sell traditional products for tourists.

However, there are also many people who strongly think that hosting a major sports competition causes many problems for the country. Major sports events such as the World Cup and the Olympics require infrastructure investment, which may not be used in the future. Moreover, the place where the event occurs is a big target of terrorist. In recent years, the cost of organizing a sporting event has increased significantly because it includes not only the infrastructure investment but also the heightened security. Therefore, this can lead to higher taxes for the local population.

From my own perspective, a country should take on the responsibility of hosting major sports competition if it has capacity to plan and organize successfully. To be awarded the honour of “host nation” of a major international sporting event can have a profound effect on a country such as changing the profile of the place and life of the people.

Every coin has two sides, and a nation that hosts a large sports competition
is no exception.

Asizable percentage of people take the view that to host a big sports
competiton is nice for the nation. Firstly, the sport competitions hell all
of sports which belong to their country themselves develop both quality and
quantity. Athletes are haven motivations to try to win. Most of people are
proud of their nation and involve it. Secondly, it helps the infractures to
modernize. The road system will be built perfectly and serviced long for the
economy; the stadium and sport houses, et cetera… are been better such as
Sydney and Athens that organizated 2000 and 2004 respectively have been
upgraded and become international profession cities in the world. Thirdly,
country will be attractive much tourists and made a lot of works. As you
know that, Barlcelona which happened the Olympic in 1992 had ever witnessed
the huge quantity of tourists and kept on increasing when Olympic finished.
In fact, Barcelona was from the sixteenth to the third in the world.
Fourthly, the growth economy will be plummeted higher than after the sport

Nevertheless, there are also some problems which are the result of becoming
a host country’s sports competitive. It will be made the population increase
suddenly. Thus, it will lead to mixing life of people in there, being unsafe
about the political and security situations.

After careful consideration of the above reason, I personally stand on
the side of the advocates. Yes, I am one of the many people who feel that
the nations which are a host of a major sports competiton still were a large
economies and brought much benefit more than risks.

All the evidence supports an unmistakable conclusion that organizing a
huge sports competition will bring both well and badly for there country,
built in where degree it depends on these sides that we see

For example, professor and researcher in economics Crisp Gladden said that the Olympics 2008 will bring $ 6 billion profit for its own city of Beijing. Firstly, host a major sport competition makes a lot of benefit for a country. The Government push up to build stadiums, roads ,hotels to serve competitions so that it makes many jobs for workers. Foreign visitors bring much money for budget. In addition, picture of this country is presented all over the world so that foreign companies increase to invest capital for country’s economic. Morever, country’s economic will be grew up.
However, host a major sport competitive causes many problems for the country. The Government need more land for building so that agriculture land shrink. It is so difficult to manage order social when having lots of people.That is also the reason why the rate of crime is increased rapdy in today’s modern world. Futhemore, if quaility of services is bad, foreign visitor will not want to go to this country. As a result, tourism industry losses.

There are some reasons supporting that it is good. Firstly, prestige from hosting the games attracts trade and tourism. According to CNN, the past three decades have seen an average GDP growth rate of almost 10 percent a year, making China the world's fourth largest economy after the United States, Japan and Germany. Secondly, the facilities which are built for use during the games can be used for the cities population for years to come. In fact, the authorities set up three designated protest zones in three parks, two in downtown and another in the outskirts of the city.
However, there is some debate that hosting a major sports competion causes many problems . The main disadvantage of the costs associated with organizing game . It is getting really expensive to host the games and more difficult to make any profit from it. On the other hand , security must be a top priority to prevent terrorism and hooligans disrupting the games. Finally, a cities infrastructure must be excellent to cope with the influx of visitors.

Currently, one of the topics that interests quite a lot of people in society is almost every country in the world has problems with the environment, affecting its land, air or water.
I belive that the main troubles on land are deforestation, building in rural areas and soil erosion. First of all, the rate of deforestation has been on continuous increase drastically in the recent years. It not only contributes to make the loss of biodiversity but also plays a role in changing the climate. In particular, The Ministry of environment of America noticed that there were about 33 million hectares of destroyed forest each year. Furthermore, the industry is rapidly growing along with many factories in the countryside. Last but not least, soil erosion is a major global environmental problem. It strongly influences natural environment such as degraded agricultural lands. Perhaps, the helpful things we can do to tackle these difficulties are raising awareness of people to protect forest, restricting industrial parks in the country, and encouraging biological diversity by planting several different types of plants together.
The way in which air is affected are as follows. Firstly, the people have to face with acid rain. It has harmful impacts on plants, aquatic animals, infrastructure, etc.... According to Institute of Hydrometeorology and Environment, in the South Vietnam, nearly 50% of rain was acid rain which decreased a yield of from 20% to 69% on vegetables in 2007. It causes many serious problems such as: soil erosion, landslide, increased greenhouse effect….Perhaps the most helpful thing we can do to tackle these difficulties is to plan more trees and we can make many the artificial forest to replace improved forest.
The way in which air is affected as follows. Firstly, the toxic fumes is the main caution. The emissions from vehicle, factories and living lead to the air poluted. In Beijing, 4.8 million cars in circulation results in the air quality are at level five – the worst and most dangerous in history. Besides this, the acid rain is now causes air polluted. It was found that acid rain is very harmfull for the environment, the construction in historic preservation….I believe the best way to reduce these problems is by using the fuel-efficient cars or using public transport more often, charging polluting factories high taxes…
The main effects of pollution and other environment problems on water are contaminated rivers and the toxic from factories. It can cause the lack of clean water many countries and destroy the habitat of living underwater organisms.In Vietnam, 65% of the wells in the North Delta contants some toxic substances. Currently, man is growing up; by the development industry to create more emissions, waste water, ect ... makes the land, water and air is heavily polluted, affecting the health not good health and human life.

There are over 60% of industrial zones have no sewage treatment systems focus. The city has only about 60% - 70% of solid waste is collected. It does not meet the requirements of environmental protection ... Most of the untreated waste water are poured directly into rivers, lakes. Land is a precious resource, human use of land resources in agricultural production to ensure supply of food for humans. But the pace of population growth and industrial growth and urbanization activities today, the area of arable land is increasingly shrinking, the quality of land has been degraded. Currently, atmospheric pollution is the burning issue of the whole world, not just of one country. Atmospheric environment are significantly more variable and may adversely affect humans and other creatures. Every year human exploitation and use of billions of tons of coal, oil and gas. Also released into the environment large quantities of various wastes such as municipal waste, waste from factories and enterprises to make concentrations of toxic gases rising rapidly. The most worrisome thing is the human waste into the atmosphere of poisonous gases such as CO2, causing the greenhouse effect.

Therefore, the time and place of dry air, the climate becomes drier and higher temperatures, resulting in more forest fires, more flooding.

We need to continue protecting and cleaning up the environment in better ways, more practical! First, there must be very heavy sanctions and strictly for individuals, organizations and agencies for acts of environmental vandalism, affecting the lives of people. Another way to help protect the environment more frequently launches voluntary movements such as environmental protection of residential garbage in public areas, cleaning the beach, buy fuel-efficient cars, reduce waste and recycle rubbish, charge polluting factories high taxes, plant more trees, ect…

Therefore, we should join hands to protect the environment and avoid pollution. For the future a world of green, clean, beautiful, and because of our own lives as well as of the next generation!

Almost most every country in the world has problems with the environment, affecting its land, air, or water. I believe the main problems on land are soil erosion, deforestation and land-fill sites full of rubbish. Soil erosion occurs when topsoil moves from one place to another as a result of various natural and man-made factors, such as wind, water, deforestation and farming. Furthermore, in some countries where the population is booming people have to clear forests to make room for buildings, schools, hospitals and supermarkets. The causes of land pollution also include the garbage that is dumped every day, either into the streets, or into ground. Most of the materials like food leftovers, glass, plastic and all kinds of paper are not used up or recycled. Perhaps the most helpful thing we can do to tackle these difficulties is to plan more tree, reducing the use of salty water and chemicals. There are steps that can be taken to help us do better at reducing the causes of land pollution which to reduce waste and recycle rubbish. In addition, the government need to refuse to give planning permission for new building.
The ways in which air is affected are as follows. Firstly, smoke coming out from vehicles contains a big amount of lead which is harmful to health . Secondly, besides person transports in the cities release so much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every day . I believe the best way to reduce these problem is by governments move all factories to the suburbs and to reduce the number of person transports on streets but it takes long time and great effort. In addion, the government encourge everyone use public transport more often.
The main effects of polution and other environmental problems on water are contaiminated rivers, global warning. The rivers in the city is very polluted by wastewater and solid, which run ways from factories, human activities and some activities. One of the impacts is many fishes have been died and smell is so bad. Moreover, global warning that temperatures are increasing faster besause the families use air conditional so much. Toxic waste is waste material, often in chemical form, which pollutes the natural environment and contaminates groundwater. These can be dealt with by charge polluting factories high taxes, buy cars with less-polluting engines.
It is crucial that these measures are taken in order to ensure a heathy future for our planet.

The main reason for deforestation is the demand for fuel, wood and paper products, cattle ranching, farming, mining and road construction. In particular, every minute of every hour of every day, an area of rainforest the size of approximately thirty-seven football pitches is cut down all over the world. It is not only a reason caused the washing away of soil in the monsoon season but also global warming. Furthermore soil erosion, it’s a natural process. It becomes a problem when human activity causes it to occur much faster than under natural conditions. DID YOU KNOW : Annual soil loss in South Africa is estimated at 300 - 400 million tonnes, nearly three tonnes for each hectare of land. The FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation, a branch of United Nations) estimates that the global loss of productive land through erosion is 5-7 million ha/year. Perhaps the most helpful thing we can do to tackle these difficult is raising perception of people to harm of deforestation, reducing waste and recycle rubbish ….
The way in which air is affected are follows. the people in the world have to face to face acid rain. It’s is a common term for pollution caused when sulfur and nitrogen dioxides combine with atmospheric to produce a rain and nitric acids. Environmental damage from acid rain has been reported in northern Europe and North America. High levels of acid rain have also been detected in other areas of the world such as above the tropical rain forest of Africa. Acid rain has destroyed plant and animal life in lakes, damaged forests and crops, eroded structures .I believe the best way to reduce these problem is by turning off lights or appliances when they are no longer in use, using renewable form energy … etc.

As one of the major important problems of the 20­th century, pollution has received more and more attention because of its urgency .Each country is facing with three main tasks : the pollution of land, air and water

The first problem that can be seen clearly by everybody is that the land is becoming polluted into deep water . The underlying trouble here is the increase of deforestation. The world loses 7,3 million hectares of forest annually, which is a very alarming figure. As a result , where forest is destroyed, the soil erosion is very clear, and it leaves the severe consequences. Therefore, the land ,which erodes, has a poor ecological background. Beside two problems above, the land-fill sites full of rubbish also makes enviroment more and more badly. By planting more trees and reducing waste and recycle rubbish, we can improve the land .

The second thing that must be taken into consideration is the intensely-polluted air . Every day cars, industrial parks, and vehicles emit thousands, even millions liters of gas and toxic fumes .In addition, the greenhouse effect is directly linked to global warming and makes it happen more quickly. It is not good for the environment . In fact , some contries are encouraging their citizens to buy cars with less-polluting engines, or to use public transportation more often to reduce the pollution.

Finally, the pollution of land and air partly leads to the contamination of water . Deforestation increases the possibility of flooding. Acid rain is caused by rains mixing with toxic fumes in the atmosphere, and when it happens, many structures will erode gradually, causing much damage to property. Moreover, The global waring accelerates the melting of ice caps at the two poles of the Earth. Therefore , the sea level will rise up and threaten those countries that are below the sea level. Because environmental factors closely relate to each other, if we reduce the pollution of land and water, air pollution will be reduced too.

In conclusion, environment has great impact on people and our world, so the evironmental protection is essential and requires contribution from everyone.

People throw waste anywhere such as on beaches, on roads, in the forests, etc. Moreover, the deforestation causes the soil erosion, floods, greenhouse gases, etc. Nevertheless, people just can see a few benefit, they can’t realize big consequences after that. Perhaps the most helpful thing we can do to tackle these difficulties is to reduce waste, recycle rubbish, and produce biodegradable objects, e.g. carrier bag. In Addition, the government should refuse to give planning permission for new buildings and specially plan more trees.

The ways in which air is affected are as follows. Firstly, nowadays rivers are more contaminated because of catching too many fish, pouring the polluted water of factories, etc in the lake and river. Besides, melting ice caps is the big serious problem with all countries in the world. We have to face with amount of giant carbon dioxide into the air and many places will be sunk into the water. Following the forecast of scientists, in 2050 the ground bed is frozen by permanent ice caps melted over 50 %. On the other hand, droughts lead to lake water for people, animals and plants. The main reason is the global warming. I believe the best way to reduce these problems is by charging polluting factories high taxes.

The main effects of pollution and other environmental problems on water are the smog, greenhouse gases, and global warming. The first problem is smog of manufactories which can take part in air pollution and adverse effect for human healthy. In addition, greenhouse gases can lead to move upward earth’s temperature and influence strongly to the multilateral of environment. Finally, the warmer of earth makes to change the normal condition of many biological in the world. Climate global will deeply inconstant, and more new diseases of human will appear, expand everywhere , etc.There can be dealt with by turning off lights or appliances when they are no longer in use , and using public transport more often, etc.
