The line graph above shows in percentage terms the development of four kinds of home technologies in the United Kingdom during the period from 1996 to 2003.
It is clearly for us to see that, except for the mobile phone’s instability for the first few year, they mostly belong to the trend upward. CD player proved to be the most popular appliance throughout the observed period with a steady increase by over 20 %. Home computer witnessed the same rise from over 20 % in 1996/1997 to under 60 % in 2002/2003. Although mobile phone experienced some fluctuations during the whole period, and internet only appeared in the survey since 1998/1999, they both jumped sharply by approximately 40 %.
In conclusion, illustrated in the graph is the development trend of four main modern technologies in the United Kingdom’s households. In spite of being traditional or new appliances, they all promised to become wide spread day by day.

Chị ơi em nộp bài writing nhé:

Do young people today make good use of their leisure time? Or do they spend too much time watching television and playing video games, instead of taking part in more productive activities?

In our time and age, people, especially young people have many choices of activities that they like to do. But it seems that they do not use their leisure time properly.
I should start off by explaining how is proper use of leisure time. It means that you use time to do something that be helpful to your life. As an illustration, if you playing volleyball, it can help you relax and become friendly and stronger. Another example is helping your parents to do houseworks, this is a beneficial action.
In constrast, the wrong way to use free-time is spending time for useless things that waste your time, money and health without benefits. For example, if you use free time for drinking alcohol, it not only make you waste time and money but also be harmful to your health.
From my own perspective, young people now do not make good use of their spare time. They use too much time watching television or playing video games.
The reason that can be seen by every person is that nowaday, almost families have telivision and there are many interesting television progams all over the world. So young people can watch it all day without feeling bored or tired. Moreover, there are more and more game-services in both countries and cities where young people can play many computer games. Despite there are some advantages of the two activities such as provide knowledge or entertainments, it is really harmful if you watch television or play games too much, in another way more than two hours a day. As it cause many vision problems in students and even cause autism.
I do strongly support the idea that young people should take part in more productive activities which can help them relax and do not have any disadvantage. They are the activities that close to the nature and make people must use many soft skills such as play sports, enjoy some charity activities, go picnic with family or friends…
All reliable evidences point to one saying, that is young people now use their spare time in the wrong way and in my point of view, their family and school should encourage them to enjoy more productive activities.

The line graph shows in percentage terms the change of four main kinds of household technologies in the United Kingdom from 1996 to 2003.
As we can see easily from the graph, mobile phone tended to be instable in the first few years while the others rose steadily. It had some fluctuations during the period, but leveled off in 2002/2003. In the upward trend, CD player seemed to be the most popular appliance throughout the period. Writting task 1: describing the line graph.

The line graph reveals the trend of people using the modern technology in the UK from 1996 to 2003. It can be clearly seen that we have 4 sphere: home computer, internet access, mobile phone and CD player.
As you can see from the graph, the all rates were increasing except mobile phone. CD player rose steadily from 60% to 80% in more than 7 years. Home computer had the same speed of increase with about 29% in 1996/97 and over 50% in 2002/03. Intermet access grew considerably, faster than the two before; but it firstly appeared in 1998/99 with 10% and in 2002/03, the rate rose to 45%.
Mobile phone had a different trend, not really increased, it fluctuated. You can see the proportion started with 18% in 1996/97, then rosed up to 45% between 1998/99 and 2000/01. But in 2000/01, it fell and then rose again with the percentage of over 60. From then on, it increased slightly.
Gradually, we can see that CD player ranked the first. the next was mobile phone. Home computer ranked the third and finally it was Internet access.
So, in that period, the most popular domestic access to modern technology in homes in UK was CD player. I think it was a very convenient way to enjoy our modern life with so wonderful music and entertainment at home.

Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that the way youth spending their free time. Some people concern that leisure time has been shrinking as a result of the tremendous advance in modern technology. From my own perspective, adolescents waste their time in games or television programs, instead of doing productive activities. I would like to present two explanations to confirm that I am right.

First of all, young people don’t have good advice how to use their spare time wisely. In actual fact, in the school, teachers don’t encourage the students to join useful clubs or societies. They only concern about scores, results more than everything. Students don’t know how to spend leisure time in the right way, so that they don’t interested in any outdoor activities.

A more essential factor why I advocate the argument is that entertain technology become important part of our life very easy. Actually, many teenagers believe that they can find themselves in the games rather than go out to the world. They don’t have confident to face the world. Add to that, the games or TV programs are created by the imagination so the worlds in them are amazing, seem to be very attractive. Consequently, they only live in the unreal world.

From what have been discuss above, we may finally draw the conclusion that people have to worry about how to use their leisure time correctly, not in vain.

    Task 1

The line graph chart compares the percentage change between the access pattern used in house in the UK with modern technology. It can be clearly seen that there are two basic general trends: upwards and fluctuation.
Fistly, the rate of three patterns using : Internet access, Home computer, CD player was increased from 1996 to 2003. Although appearing later and only achieved 10% in 1998 but the rate of the Internet access skyrocketed rapidly and reached more than 40% in 2003. Furthermore, the Home computer clamb steadily from less than 30% to nearly 60% between 1996 and 2003. Whereas, with the highest rate was 60% in 1996, CD player continued to soar to over 80% in 2003 and stilled highest proportion in types of access.
Besides, the Mobile phone fluctuated continuously during 1996 to 2003. Between 1996 and 1999, the used rate was more than doubled from under 20% to over 40%, then trended to level off in 2000. After that, the rate was rocketed dramatically from over 40% and achieved nearly 70% in 2003.
It is noticeable that the percentage terms of the access patterns have changed dramatically and the CD player is the most widely used in households in the UK.

Em Hoàng Thị Thanh Việt - E53 - Writing Task 2: Do you think young people...?
Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that whether young people use their spare time sensibly or not.
First of all, we should definite what leisure time is. Following Oxford dictionary, leisure time is the time that is spent doing what you enjoy when you are no working or studying. On the other hand, according to French author, free time is an interval you want to do everything or do whatever you want without fearing to be rebuked.
In fact the more developing technology is, the more ways youth entertain. However, that means there are worse side due to the most young people are wasting a lot of time to non-useful activities like watching television and playing video games or sitting along time front of computer for chatting, surfing internet. Even if they know the worth of free time as well as the benefit of productive activities, they still do not spend time on useful activities such as playing sport, taking part in going to the cinema or visiting museums and art galleries, or joining social organization. Visiting these places was too mundane, dull and tasteless for them since they do not acknowledge enjoyment concealed from sculptures or art pictures. There is a further more subtle point we must consider that beside young people use time misspent, others utilize more efficient participating in community activities. For instance, they volunteers to urge people on planning trees or not throwing rubbish on the street in protection of environment movement or to assist who have plight such as elder, orphans, foundling or homeless. Yet I am one of many people who feel that it is merely difficult to how much spare time is enough for everybody but the signification is the way you use your leisure time.
All the evidence supports an unmistakable conclusion that nowadays youth seem not to control their time, especially their free time. It is also one of extremely critical problems we should take note more.

Chị ơi e Luyến E 53 nộp bài nhé

Nowadays, leisure time activities are set to play a larger part in people’s daily lives than ever before. As a result of technology development, many people alarm that younger are immersing in indoor activities such as watching television and playing video games instead of taking part in that outdoor which are more effective. I find this opinion invalid, for the following reasons.

The first reason that can be seen by every person is that sitting in front of a television or a game screen is not the most preferable of many young people. Youth nowadays have a wide choice of leisure-time activities after long hard day at work or school such as playing sport, listen to music, traveling or participating social events..etc. They also have a growing concern about the effectiveness of what activities they enjoyed. They know that not only do sports help develop their muscle and stamina, but they also enable them to cultivate necessary skills like team-work, sportsmanship. So in the recent years, the number of sport centers or clubs, even sporting events quickly increase. Beside, music and art also have a strong appeal to young. They prefer to enjoy a music liveshow than see it on the television at home. In addition, tourism is modern form of this society. Many young people consider the planned trips to gain so many physical, social and mental benefits.
There is a further more subtle point we must consider is that the benefits of watching television, playing video game and the purpose of the user. Some people might argue that watching television, a common leisure activity, has seriously hampered the viewers' development. However, there is evidence that television program are becoming increasingly educational and instructive. For example, quiz shows encourage critical thinking, while educational channels, such as Discovery, broaden watchers' knowledge. While advertisements bear aesthetical and ideological values, talk shows display the art of languages and the news providing the information about many fields every day as economic, education, society, science ..etc. In addition, most of younger paying video game for relax and use television as a way to pursue their interests. Like for instances, youngers who play sports usually choose sport program, while people like fashion prefer the fashion shows.

Based on the above discussion and analysis, we can see that as a result of wide range of productive activities, television and video game hardly take too much leisure time for most young people who know spent their time in useful way.
