TOPIC 6: THE ADVANTAGES OF THE SPREAD OF ENGLISH AS A GLOBAL LANGUAGE WILL CONTINUE TO OUTWEIGH ITS DISADVANTAGES. TO WHAT EXTENT DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE?
Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is whether the advantages of dissemination of English will retain outweigh its advantages or not. This issue should be viewed and analyzed from multiple perspectives. Personally, what I do want to strongly support the idea that the strength points of its is more considerable rather than weakness points because of the following reasons.
First of all, it is undoubtful that English is so prevalent because of not only its simplicity but also adaptability. Obviously, English has taken on words from many other languages and cultures, i.e., German, Greek, Latin or French. Hence, it is one of the reasons why some people feel easier when they learn English than others. Because of these advantages, English enables people to communicate fairly easy and conveniently with each other from diverse countries in the world. On the other hand, it is inevitable that the globalization leads to demand for a international language in order to exchange information. Thus, the advent of a global tongue as English is certainly an indispensable part of our lives.
Notwithstanding, it is argued that English is dominant will make some languages especially ethnic languages are on brink of extinction. It’s fair to say that, perhaps, the disappearance of them does not relate directly to the monopolization of English. In fact that, the main reason is some tongues which are spoken by minorities normally have a less number of people. Therefore, when native elderly die, those languages will be threatened to be killed if next generation does not aware of upholding their traditional values. In addition, not all nations regard how to preserve and keep this significance of culture as well as to invest aptly in this issue.
In conclusion, from what as been discussed above, you must concur with me that a international language as English seem to make world become “smaller and smaller” and human is closer to each other although in some cases it might lead to the mitigation of diversity of culture.

TOPIC 5: SOME PEOPLE ARGUE THAT IMMIGRANTS SHOULD ADOPT THE LOCAL CULTURE WHEN IMMIGRATING TO A NEW COUNTRY. AN ALTERNATIVE VIEW IS THAT THEY CAN ADAPT TO A NEW ENVIRONMENT BY ESTABLISHING A MINORITY COMMUNITY. DISCUSS THESE TWO VIEWS AND GIVE YOUR OPINION.

Coming to the 21st century, immigration has become a worldwide issue which brings countries many benefits as well as disadvantages. Obviously, the problems of migrants who leave their motherlands to go to new countries and settle there have become the hot issues which many governments and authorities are concerned about. In my viewpoint, when coming to a new country, immigrants should adapt the new living environment by integrating into the native communities. However, some people say that creating a private community may be a better way for them.

When going to a new country, the first thing that immigrants have to face with is how to integrate in a different society with new studying and working environments and be treated as the others. In fact, this is the biggest problem and it takes them much time to get acquainted with a new life. Namely, a good starting point should be observing the native’s behaviour, for example, the ways they talk to each other and do imitate them. Otherwise, being always open-hearted and willing to help someone in the new country might be useful to make friends with them and therefore, immigrants can know more about their culture and life style. Adapting a new life is not easy but this is the best way to immigrate in a new living place.

On the other hand, it is a fact that many people are not able to integrate into a new community when they immigrate to a new country. Instead of this, they often choose to join in a private community which only consists of their countrymen and actually, there are always various minority communities of immigrants in many countries. Probably, living around compatriots will help them to get familiar with many strange things and gradually adapt their new life. For instance, the emigrants from china account for the largest proportion of emigrants all over the world, and in almost countries, they have formed numerous Chinese communities as known as Chinatown.

In conclusion, after immigrating into a new country, immigrants are at crossroads whether to decide to live with the native people in their community or to participate in a private community of countrymen. However, each way has its advantages and disadvantages and choosing which way is dependent on each person’s decision.

Well as you can probably guess, I had a wonderful Maths teacher in secondary school near my house which is a small school, Mrs Tam. Physically, she was more short in fact, she had an eledant-looking person as style of Hanoi girl. I suppose the reason has something to do with the fact that despite her stern exterior, she was very likeable. In school hours, we listened with concentration to their her’ explanation of the lesson, with no voice only her voice lectured. She helped me to take shape in my mind and reasoned logistic skill. I will never forget her because she was my idol.

During school time, I have met so many teachers. But the one who has impressed me most is my math teacher in grade 6, as well as my homeroom teacher. I can remember her very well. Physically, she looks quite normal. She is tall, thin, with a small face. I like her beautiful long black hair. She is very strict when pupils make mistakes, but it is to help them improve. Character-wise, she is always careful in everything. When I could not do exercises, she enthusiastically explained to me. Moreover, she sometimes gave me books when I couldn’t find where to buy them. Apart from schootime, she often talked and shared with us so many things in life. Every year when Vietnam Teachers’ day comes, I go back my hometown to visit her. Although she looked a little older,she still remembered the time I was studied her math. Maybe later I will choose teaching as my career, and I will never forget her, who left me much love with this.

Well, first of all, the main thing you need to know is that my teacher I remember from my school day is the old teacher who taught me when I was in class 11. Well you might not know this but he is 60 years-old, he is short and fat. He has a round face but he is bald. In addition to this he has mustache. When I was class 11, he taught chemistry, but now he has been retired since last year. A second feature which I should mention is that he is good teacher. This could be because he is not teacher who has the best professional qualification, but he is a great teacher, a big friend of us. Which means he told his experience what he passed in the past. As the result, he taught us how become good people, and gave us many advise when we got trouble. Now, in free time, we visit and tell him the funny stories. Well you know, we respect him.

Describe a teacher you can remember from your schooldays.
I am sure that everyone do not forget the teachers, who taught them in the past. Me too, but the teacher, who I have the deepest memory, is my teacher chair high school.
He teaches maths for me from great 10 to 12, this is very important subject. He is not only a good teacher but also a brilliant manager. He is about 55 years old and his appearance is quite special. He is fat, tall with a pony - tail and long beard. Although he seems stern, he is a friendly and funny man. He made his classes as an adventure in an enigmatic garden. However, he is quite conservative and always thinks that he is been true in all things. Therefore, he was sometimes few mistakes in lecturers but we did never talk to him.
I graduated high school but I always remember him. I wish I will become a good lecture to continue his way.

I can remember a teacher call Ms Dung really well, she was the teacher I had in grade 10. She taught me chemical in the first term, and the next she became vice – headmaster and stopped teaching. Physically, she looked kind – hearted with a plump face. She was about overage, not very tall and attracted with a curly brown hair. Character – wise, she was good – natured, she always entranced class with a smile, specially, she never storm at violently and when we make mistake she just admonished us slightly, only advise and admonish but her advices always influenced strongly on us. She had special teaching method, her teach was always attached with story or sometimes with jokes, furthermore while she speaking we can easy saw that she let all of her mind in there, maybe it made me interested in chemical, and made it not become scare. She is the first homeroom teacher in my upper secondary school, although she only teach me one term, I remember her the most. I can say that she is the person who transmit me inspiration, and now for me chemical still an indulgence

Everybody who also go to school and all of us have reminiscences of the teacher who taught us. I still remember my teacher when I studied in the primary school. When, she was 25 years old, she is a beautiful thin tall girl and her hair is long , I 'm very like seeing her. She taught many subjects as math, philology, painting... I remember that she paint very well, when the time of painting start, we enjoy drawing. Most of time, she ussualy make us to be merry but she is also very sternly, all of her students know this because she always punish the students who don't finish their homework before going to school. She has influenced me so much, because I was bad student, I often didn't do my homework, shirk school to play game... althought, I always don't relize her advice but she still help me, she make me to become good man.

Well, actually I was sitting in school for 12 years and have learned through a lot of teachers but have a person who has left lasting impressions on me that she Thao - teachers in my biology. She looked about 40 years ,the body rather short, thin, silky straight black hair. She has fair skin and small face . She was not so beautiful but look at her I always feel comfortable, familiar.Well , she is a woman of manners quickly, always serious about the job. In a biology class, she lectured very scientific, serious, straightforward, and she often tells stories related to the lesson makes our lessons more interesting, not boring . Not only that, her knowledge broad, saying she is very smart. I remember my class, everyone is scared of her period in the class because you are not chatting , if someone does not answer her questions will be given less points. An anniversary that I could not forget it's a day I have to check old post but I did not learn all that day and she had scolded one but I'm not angry with her that she would like to add more. From that day I determined to study hard and now I love biology. Actually, she was the person I respect, maybe I'll never forget her .

Well as you know that teachers are “ the ferry man” to lead younger generation to the future. Actually, for myself, too, they like father, mother of mine and I remember cleary one of my teacher – Mr.Phy – my chemistry teacher in high school. He is about 40 years old and looks quite well-favoured. He has a small stature with a white skin, especially he has a very charming dimples. In my opinion, he is very good not only in subject he teaches but also in society knowledge particularly using fluent in English. Well, when he lectures, people can not take your eyes off his lectures as the way he teaches is very difference. Instead of just teaching the dry knowledge, he often tell us joke stories to make us more attractive . Although it, he is also an extremely rigorous and disciplined; he ofen gives us some disciplines and if someone violate them will be punished severely. You don’t know that I was punished for violating them, but it not only does not make me hate him but it also make me respect him more and more. I think I will remember him forever and I appreciate him very much.

Well, you know, in my memory, Mrs Nguyet, which taught me in primary school, is my beloved teacher when I talk about this. The first thing I would say that she is a 45-year-old woman and she looks beautiful with a short black hair. On top of that I can also add that she is a very kind person. For instance, I can’t forget that she helped Mrs Van, who is my friend’s mother, when she had difficulties in her job. Besides, Mrs Nguyet is a good teacher. She taught me all subjects such as Vietnamese, History, ...especially Mathematics. I still remember that in 4th grade I was very afraid of Maths and I got many bad marks in this subject. After that, she explained exercises to me carefully and she always fought a best way to make me understand when I had questions. Moreover, in the end of that school year I passed the exam with mark nine. I was very happy and thanked to my teacher. After over ten years since I graduated, I usually miss Mrs Nguyet and every year, I often visit her with my friends on Teacher’s day.

Whatever the time elapse. In my life, someone brought me to memories, they’re never forget. One of the all is my professor.
In the last term, I began to learn specialized subject at the college, well you know, a module is trade economy which was taught by a lecture who is a on the top’s economist professor in Vietnam, in fact it’s quite interesting , we always fell please when tell to him!
Actually, he was dramatic appearance, looked medium age, grey flaked hair, tall a man and heath well, with role a dean, he often wear sophisticated suit as a head of state.
Do you know, my professor is always busy with work so that sometime he only teaches once class in a year. it’s wonderful with my friends and me. Actually to be fair, at began he proved a choosy person and built his rule, for example, don’t come in after him and it means you are absent, but it’s okay. Has an enjoyable thing that he took little time to write and told many story. Do you know, he was much knowledge like astrology, poetic, political, social, communicative, love, family … he has high tone and emotive voice, this lead to we listened to concentration on his story.
He has influenced me because what he taught me was that the world is many problems so don’t hurt everyone by my langue and become worldly- wise person.

Well, you know, anyone in the world has got a teacher. And for each person, there is only one can make you impress. I have a form teacher that makes me remember the most. She taught me english when I was at the secondary school. Her name is Le Kim Khanh. She has a medium height. She looks quite young with a short black hair and a round face. I think she's pretty. I may describe her with 3 words: kindhearted, humorous and knowledgeable. She's also a strict and assertive kind of person but that's not scary at all. I have to say that in my class, I'm the only one who don't have as good condition as others. She knew that and understood me. She helped me so much and always treat all the pupils equally. She taught me how to become a good person and be stronger to face this complicated life. It's really meaningful for me. You know, I miss her so much... and I hope she always be fine.

I am very happy to introduce myself. My name's Dat, my nick name is Zundat. I'm 21 years old and i'm studying in University of civil engineering. i'm living in HaNoi city. i come from CuaLo town - Nghe An - a povince in the middle of Viet Nam. There 're five people in my family: my parents, older sister, younger sister and me.
About me, my body is casual, 1m75, 59kg. My hair is black. And i'm trying to have a long hair. I'm not laborious, but very lazy. I'm not usually angry with the others . When i fret, I usually keep silent and evadade it. I'm also pretty funny, harmonize with the others, because Ancestors has the sentence: "To increase the number of friends and to decrease that of foes". About Tobacco and alcohol, I extremely hate them. They are the demons that take the lives of many people in the world. 40,000 people die per year because of smoking.
I like learning english very much. I have learned it for 3 years at high school and university but my english skills is not good enough. Therefore, I'm trying my best to learn it now. And I hope one day i can speaking english very well. When I graduate from university, I will be a architect because it is my major. English will help my job a lot.
When I have free time, I often listen to music,watch TV, read newspapers or go shopping. I usually play football or go jogging at 5pm. it makes me feel very comfortable and great.
In conclusion, I am really happy with my life. Of course I am going to make it more happy and more meaningful.

Now something about myself
I’m Huong, I’m 23 years old. I study in Ha Noi university of pharmacy where help me become pharmacist master in the future. I was born in Yen Bai, but now I live in Ha Noi. I have black eye and hair but I dye my hair . I’m tall and thin. I’m friendly and funny ( everybody talked about me !), althought sometime I say a little. However I always like to have new friends and relationships.
The same everybody, I like music, party and shopping. I always like to explore and discover new things. I like to eat ice cream in the winter with my friends ( very interesting!).
