Last summer holiday was the most wonderful holiday I have ever had. My family – my Dad, Mom, brother and me – went to the Nha Trang beach. And this is my first I was flying – very interesting. After 2 hours, we went to Khanh Hoa City , wow the weather was great. We rented a lovely hotel with a room had a view of the beach. We went to the beach every day and sunbathed. But I like the most I went to the fantastic seafood because the seafood here was delicious. In the evening, my family walked along the beach or went to the shopping near our hotel. After two days, we went to Vinpearl Land – it’s paradise. We had used up one day to visit the place. One the last day, we went to the beach again, took many photos and bought some souvenirs. Next day, we went to the home although I and my brother didn’t want. After the trip, everyone was very excited. And sure, we will go back here .

One year ago, I didn’t pass the exam and I decied to go on holiday with my friends. We went to Khoang Xanh. It’s was the beautiful place in Ba Vi in Ha Noi. We started at 6 a.m and went to Khoang Xanh by motorbike. The weather was good. It’s was sunny and windy. I really liked it. We decied to stay in my friend house for 3 days at the weekend. On the first day, we went to the stream and went swimming in the water park. After we went camping, sang and danced over night. Next day, we went to the market and cooked lunch in my friend house. In the evening, we went for a walk. Everything was great. The last day, we went to the town,bought sourvernirs, handicrafts, Ba Vi milk and took many photos. While we were buying something, my motorbike was stolen. I was worry and went to the police station nearby. We waited for 2 hours. Suddently, the police phoned me and said that he found my motorbike. And then, I took it and we came back to Ha Noi. This is the memory holiday with us and we are going to come back Khoang Xanh next year.

My last vacation was a fun holiday in the birthplace of my wife. takes 8 hours to arrive.
We ride the night and the rest three times, two sides of the road scene after dark can not seeanything. I have a feeling it is interesting to our car to the side is a deep one side of the mountain.I've seen us feel safe and comfortable. The air here is so nature that I think will at least havesomewhere to be. The floodgates are not living there as in the city. I have met people in my wife'sfamily. I have been visiting those people, they live in houses on stilts over the mountains. I love life and also people here.

Last summer, my family and I went to Nha Trang. We had great time together with the joy of swimming, lying in the beach and got a lot of nice souvenir. That was my vacation on July. The weather was so hot. My husband decided to go to Nha Trang. We bought 3 tickets and went on the trip excited. That night before flying I couldn't sleep well. I just thought about the interests. We arrived to airport Khánh Hòa at 9 am. Then my husband rent a room at hotel, we unlocked our handbag and quickly went to the beach. We swam a lot, to 11 am. At lunch time, we ate sushi and bacon. The food were delicious so my son wanted to eat more and more. We took nap for about 3 hour, then woke up to meet some friends. Unfortunately, when we arrived at my friend's house, she wasn't at home that time. Some neighbor told us that she came to the Mineral spring center to relax. So we decided to go there by taxi. When we arrived, my friend was taking hot bath. She told us to buy swim ticket. Then we stay there to swime until 6 o' clock. At night, we went sight-seeing with some tourist. We saw beautiful natural landscapes and ate ice-cream. How yummy was that, we felt pleasant. The next day, we went to the amusement park to try some new games at Vinperland and visited some island around Nha Trang bay. There were a lot of thrills that made me scared. we returned back to Ha Noi city after 3 great holiday . That was the most excellent trip of mine.

2 years ago, I went on holiday to Da Nang with my family. We went by train. And in the train, we met many foreign people who are very friendly and lovely. We stayed at my mother’s friend for a week. I impressed her house because it likes a hotel. We saw all the tourist areas and ate some specialities of Da Nang. The weather was sunny so we sunbathed every afternoon. We went on a boat trip to Cu Lao Cham and dived that I interested in. After we visited Hoi An, walked along on the ancient streets, watched many beautiful lanterns and dropped lights on the river. On the last day, we went shopping and bought some souvernirs. This was a great trip I have ever been.

I went to my hometown with my family 4 year ago. Although I was born in Hanoi but my hometown is Danang city. Danang is very far from Hanoi, so I can’t go often. We went by train at 7pm. It took 15 hours to travel from Hanoi to Danang. When the train passed through Hue, I could see Lang Co beach – the most beautiful beach in Vietnam. When we went to Da Nang, we took the time to visit relatives and visit the famous landscapes of Danang as the Ngu Hanh Son moutain, Hoi An, Son Tra Peninsula... We had great relax moments on the blue beach with white sand. Seafood was fantasic and very cheap. I could eat forever without getting bored. Danang have alot coffee shops. And they were very nice and interesting. I could sit there all day. Fresh air and gentle people were the things what I like most here. When I was here, I found peacefully. Come to Danang and I'm sure you will love this place where I will never forget.

Last summer, I went to Thuan An town, Binh Duong province with my family. It was the most wonderful holiday that I’ve ever had in my life. On the trip, we took by train and my holiday lasts 3 days. Before we got there, we had booked a luxury hotel for 3 days at the beginning of May. Fortunately, the weather was fine so we spent all day in amusement park then in the evening we went to the nice cafe. It will be the most memorable in my mind.

Describe your last holiday!
Last year, my summer vacation lasted for one months. I and my friends traveled a lot of beauty spots in VietNam. But the tour to sapa impressed us most of all.
First, we were really interested in the natural Charm of Sapa. We visited many breath taking landscapes in Sapa such as: Bac waterfall, Ham Rong bridge, Taphin village…Sapa had a natural beauty with imposing mountains, white clouds expanding into horizon. Especially, the air in this small town was so fresh and cool. We liked the feeling of walking along the streets at night and ate the roasted- foods. You could feel the air of winter even in summer if you were in Sapa at night.
Beside, Sapa was attracted us due to the variety of culture. Along the street in this beautiful town, we could see ruddy- cheeked women and children from the region’s ethnic minorities. All of them were dressed in their traditional gard.
Coming back to HaNoi, we still couldn’t forget the trip to Sapa. It made our summer vacation last year unforgettable.

Discription your last holiday
My grandparents lived in HCM city, but my family lived in the North. So, On New Year, I and my brother had an interresting trip to visit our grandmother in Ho Chi Minh City.
We have two weeks holiday to visiting all parts of the city. I was surprised when it's cold in Hanoi to Saigon prices, warm weather, sunshine flooded everywhere. Tet in the North with cold air, my family usually eats hot food, but the weather in South is too hot, people often drinks with ice and eats more vegetables.
My uncle took me to see Spring Flower Festival in the Tao Dan Park and Nguyen Hue flower road. I enjoy shooting with the brilliant flowers. My brother felt more interesting with Southern cuisine and like my grandmother cooks good foods for him. He used to eat all the food and kept saying: Great!
In the evening, we walked around the streets. We met two French girls and my brother like a girl in it, he asked for her picture taken with it and they laughed very fresh. Later, the girl often chates with my brother and they have become friends.
My grandparents are very happy that the brothers had decided to visit them during the Tet holidays. My grandmother said: “I was very happy that your brother was here!”. My grandfather was always proud to show off to neighbors in the presence of two brothers at home and always laughing.

Understand the cultures of the country where we come is important for tourists and business people.

The world is a mixture of different races, cultures and languages. So, if we want to connect with the world, an important thing to do first is learn about theses differences. I do strongly support the idea that: the advantages of culture learning are valuable, especially for the travellers and the business people.

Despite the fact that some people prefer learning about the culture of a country when they come, I would like to do that before visiting because I believe that it can help me avoid doing somethings wrong and hurting the local people. As my own experiences, for visiting some asian temples, wearing a short is not permitted if you want to come in. The religious men feel unrespected when they see a tourist wears a low-necked dress to vistit their temple. Or in Indonesia, if you fold your arms or put your hands inside the pocket when you talk with someone, the Indonesian consider that like an arrogant act. So, if you do not try to learn about the culture of a country before coming, it will make you many difficulties to connect with the local people there.

There is a further more subtle point we must consider that learning the culture is also important for the business man as the travellers : It can help them to have a good relationships with the co-operators and it will give them more opportunities to have valuable contracts in the futur. For example, unless you met in time the Danish, you could make a bad impression with them. Or if you want to open a butcher’s shop in an Islam country as Malaysia, it will be totally a bad idea! That’s why we have to understand the cultures, however briefly, it can help your business result improves well each month. Making a research about buying culture of natal’s people may be a good approach before a business man decide to invest in a country.

In time of this internationalization economic periode, the people around the world are more open-minded and want to know more about the different countries. Understanding about the cultures of others countries can give us many undeniable advantages.

With the changes and development of information science and technology have led to the changing face of each country through economic growth. The change of the economy has affected changing of culture. The culture of each nation consists of own specific characteristics are depended on natural factors, habitat, history of the nation fighting there. If you are travellers or business going to any country, learning the culture of that country will extremely important, it decided to the success of each trip.
I really need to kick off with the point that if you learn the culture of the country gone to there, the first thing you will need to learn about nature of its: how climate, hot or cold, divided into several seasons, there are special products stand out in each season An understanding of climate, natural helping you to choice clothing otherwise you don’t ensure your health. Another point which I could add is that you need to learn about food, clothing, accommodation and traffic in the country. Specialty country they are, what they like and even taboo in the food, accommodation and travel. Understanding these things will prevent you from breaking their satisfy which can be caused loss of sympathy. Further understanding of traffic also makes it convenient to not get lost or lose money due to traffic violations. On top of that I can also add that understanding of language, historical, landscape and traditions of the nation struggle. Most of all giving you overview about the people in that country such as temperament, stature, so you can give opinions and behavior in the communication process mean to avoid being the problems that they do not like talking about. Something else that I need to comment on is that the country you knew nothing about it as something taboo in communicating, eating, drinking, traveling, or simply as the weather, you will deal with have plenty of difficult in working. It is essential that country gone to: how to develop, political bias is not clear that you can hardly succeed in working with them. Opinion difference does not come to a consensus cause of culture disagreement.
Generally learning culture of the country where you are going to be necessary and important to decide the success or failure in your work and meaning your cultural country will be known through your behavior and communication

“It is important for travellers and business people to understand the cultures they come into contact with, however briefly. What are the main advantages of doing so? What do you think is the main disadvantage of not doing so?”

Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that exchanged more countries of the cultures when people perform travels and businesses.

Many people think that contact with understanding the cultures is the main advantages. When people excuted them travels as visted famous pagodas, countries – final destinations, museums, beaches, discovered mountains in the world,… they got in touch with somebody at this local. Each of the cultures they came in which have habits and customs of this local (a country). For this reason, cultural exchanges enormous opportunities that people are able to know more and find out that there are too many unknown factors for them to discover. On other hand, being culturally aware is of great benefit in business which is occasion to be able to penetrate a new market. It help foreign companies to earn gigantic profits and business activities are promoted. Moreover transport of people creates favorable conditions for spreading and knowing more cultures in the world.

A second view which people say that beside advantages of doing so to bring, it also have disadvantages of not doing so. For example, if travelers do not learn about daily activities of local people or habits of the place that people visit, it make both travelers and local people feel uncomfortable, more serious situation is at cross-purposes and less sociable. Another reason is the number of travelers or business arrive one location allow their existence in here to be disordered and done interfere as discrepancy between habit’s travllers (younger people love noisy, enventful life, animation,…) and local people (the place have old people’s living who have quite custom, do not like noisy sound…). The most importaint is incorrect knowledge and cultural interference, is the fact that any country want not.

From the views top, we may fially draw the conclusion that understanding the cultures travelers and business people come into contact with have both advantages and disavantages, the importaint is application and knowledge of them on different situation.

There is differentiation culture between nations, continental or even locals in same country.. This probably in the cause of differentiation about location , natural conditions , history etc. With tourists and business people ,understanding about culture where they come to visit or business is very significant.

With tourists ,when you come to place alien from your , understanding about culture of it is very necessary . It will make you to feel more active . In addition ,the differentiation show that something be able normal in your country but at here it is not accepted or vice versa ...from there you will know some things should not be do , actions be able make to hurt indigenous people. Not only that, understanding visited location culture help you to avoid "culture shock" .Example , if you visit Japan , it will have a surprise for you about food that is raw fish eat with vegetable. You have to not be unpleasant this. If when in Islamic country, you must notice that never talk about meat of cows and pigs ,it is offensive to them.
With business , knowledge about culture even more important. If you know custom of country you want business ,you could domestic Market penetration easier .For instance, countries In East Asia as Vietnam, China,..have a characteristics that is gift cultures and business based on relationships. Companies do not know about this to be will never success. Furthermore ,when work with foreign partners, this will you make good impression in your partner, make them feeling respected , avoid misunderstanding in work because of differentiation culture.
Knowledge about other cultures is really advantages with everybody. you should be spend time to learn it. It is very helpful .

Topic 29: People think that old buildings should be knocked down and give way to the new buildings. Do you agree or disagree? How important are old buildings to us?

With the growth of urbanization, lands have been becoming more expensive. Many old buildings have been knocked down to save place for new buildings. Some people think that it is a part of natural process, and there is nothing to wonder. Personally, I think that an old building which should be replaced by a new one or not depends a lot on its meaning to us.

It is an undeniable fact that old buildings play a very important part in our culture. They reflect the development of architecture and our history. Some of them remark memorable events in the past, some else become the symbols of a city or a country. Demolition such buildings may inflicts damage on people’s pride of the past, or prevent architects from drawing their inspiration from their predecessors. Many old buildings are famous tourist places, because of their meaning and uniqueness. Therefore, they make a considerable contribution to the development of local economy.

Regarding to old buildings which have no specific value to society, they should be knocked them down and give way to the new buildings. Some old buildings give bad looks to the local area and even pose a danger on people and buildings around. Replacing those old building by the new ones may be more beneficial to the society.

All things considered, whether to conserve or pull down old buildings is a question that can only answered in specific cases. People should weigh the benefits and drawbacks when thinking about replacing old buildings by the new ones.

However, everything has duality.
