This was one tricky product to get my hands on, but (as is obvious) I did and I couldn't be more pleased. Chances are you've seen one of the many positive reviews of this floating around. I'll elaborate as I go on, but I'll start by stating they were right. This is a pretty fantastic foundation!

Aside from having difficulties finding where to purchase this (I got mine from ASOS) I had a bit of trouble knowing which shade would work for me. I typically fall into the second lightest shade or NW20, so I took a chance on #52 Vanilla hoping it would be a useable shade. Luckily the shade turns out to be spot on. I'm not sure if the shades available are as limited everywhere- I tried to check the Bourjois UK site, but my anti-virus keeps registering a threat so I haven't been able to check. If the shades are as limited as it seems, this might be out of the question for darker skinned gals, which is a total shame.

The texture of this foundation is perfect, in my opinion- a medium consistency that feels almost weightless once on. The formula claims to use 'fruit therapy' and specific fruit complexes to mimic skincare properties, specifically apricot for radiance, melon for hydration, apple for anti-oxidants, and ginger for energy. All the 'fruit therapy' might be bogus, but it does give the product a very light, slightly floral-fruity scent. It dissipates quite quickly, but could be bothersome to the super sensitive.

To apply this I use a Sigma F80 that I lightly spray with Avene Thermal Water and I couldn't dream of a better finish. This applies so easily, and blends beautifully. I finish this off with powder, but it really isn't necessary as the finish once dry is so natural; it feels just like your skin, but better. The bottle makes claims of it having 16 hour wear, which I have not tested, but from the 8-10 hours I have worn it, it has stayed remarkably well. Even around my nose, where my glasses sit, it stays on my face (not smeared into the nose curve of my frames.) A most excellent thing.

The comparison above might be helpful for those with a similar colouring to mine. Yes, all of those foundtions match me; odd how they all look so different when swatched side by side. Well, the MAC Pro Lonwear is a bit too yellow toned for my liking, but it can be blended out to match. Colour wise, the Bourjois #52 is closest to Revlon ColourStay 180 Sand Beige.

Overall, I am very pleased with this foundation and hopefully will be able to get my hands on more products from the range/brand. Have you tried this? What did you think?

Product rave- Bourjois healthy mix foundation
After trying out various foundations over Christmas, I decided to purchase a bottle of Bourjois healthy mix and I have to thank everyone who recommended this, because it really is a great foundation!


RRP £9.99, available from Boots and Superdrug

The foundation comes in a lightweight plastic bottle with a pump, which is great for throwing into an overnight bag, or if you're prone to dropping things like me.

I would describe this as a buildable light to medium coverage semi-matte foundation, which leaves my skin looking extremely natural, but healthier and more even toned.

The light fluid does a great job of evening out my skintone, smoothing over pores and covering minor imperfections, but I still need a concealer for dark circles.

Another reason why I like this foundation is that it doesn't contain any SPF, I use a separate lotion anyway and it can make your face lighter in photos.



With a bit of powder and blotting, this lasts 10 - 12hours. I've not had any problems with it oxidizing and it feels weightless, even after a whole day's wear!

I found it quite difficult to choose a shade as 52 and 53 were very similar, but in the end 52 seemed to match my NC25 skintone that little bit better.

All in all, I'm really impressed with this foundation and I would definitely recommend it if you want a medium coverage everyday foundation that feels completely weightless on the skin!

Bourjois Healthy Mix

Hellooo Today, I have a review of a foundation for you. The foundation in question is the Healthy Mix Foundation by Bourjois - a very popular one amongst fellow bloggers and youtubers! There are two versions of this foundation, this one and the 'serum' version which I suppose is targeted to those with more dry skin.



First of all, my skin type is oily in my t-zone, but normal on my cheeks. Ever since I've entered the realms of beauty back when, I've struggled finding a foundation that was perfect in colour, texture, price and of course, durability. Powder was always a staple in my makeup routine with various blotting and touch ups needed throughout the day.

After hearing myriad reviews on this foundation, I decided to just buy it and see how I like it. It's £9.99 and available from Boots and Superdrug. I will be reviewing the foundation on several categories, as listed below:



Consistency
Healthy Mix is quite thin and slightly runnier than most foundations, which makes it easier to sink into the skin, to give a really natural look. The foundation blends in effortlessly into the skin, meaning you need a small amount to go a long way (as with all good foundations). I personally love the consistency, no negatives!

Colour range:
This foundation range caters for fairer skin tones brilliantly, although for darker shades it is much more limited as there are only 8 shades in total.

Packaging
The packaging is great as you can see exactly how much product you have remaining. Also, it has a pump making it mess free and easier to control the amount of product needed.. as well as obvious hygiene reasons. It doesn't look or feel cheap/clunky either.

Coverage
I'd say the coverage is light/medium and can be built up easily without looking cakey. You can see in the before and after pictures it reduced the appearance of redness, scarring and my freckles. If you have very problematic skin, I'm not sure this foundation will be for you but otherwise, it's great!

Durability
It definitely needs to be powdered on my skin in order for it to last, and touched up throughout the day. If I don't powder, after a while, it becomes blotchy and separates on my skin - especially on my chin/t-zone. A primer really helps to prevent this as well.

Finish
The finish is absolutely lovely. It gives the skin such a gorgeous dewy finish, which is where the name 'healthy mix' came from I guess. Despite not being full coverage, it still gives an airbrushed look to the skin, especially when buffed in well.

I hope this review helped you. Overall, I would give this foundation a 7.5/10, and I would very much recommend it if you're looking to try out a new foundation! I would probably repurchase in future

BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX FOUNDATION



Marketed as 'Bourjois' first radiance-boosting fruit therapy foundation that's good for the skin', Healthy Mix supposedly provides a flawless complexion for up to 16 hours as well as allowing the skin to 'breathe'. Which sounds very nice of course, but my only problem with Healthy Mix (and indeed with most foundations) is that this struggles to stay on my face for more than 8 hours even if I use a primer. Their 70% more radiance claim is entirely lost on me too, but, eye-roll inducing advertising aside, it's not too bad.

De Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation ligt al een tijdje in de winkels, en eindelijk werd het tijd voor mij om deze fruitige foundation te reviewen. Ik heb hem in de kleur 52 Vanille, en dat is precies mijn kleur wanneer ik zelfbruiner gebruikt heb. Dit is dus mijn suntanned foundation! De Healthy Mix foundation is een bijzondere foundation, want er zitten extracten in van abrikoos, meloen, appel en gember. Allemaal voor een mooie, stralende huid.


Ten eerste de verpakking. Ik kan er niks slechts over zeggen: een pompje is altijd super hygiënisch en werkt snel en makkelijk. De vorm is handig en mooi en werkt gewoon prima. Het oogt wel ietwat goedkoop doordat het erg plastic is, maar het gaat natuurlijk uiteindelijk om hoe het product werkt en de hygiëne.

De substantie is vrij vloeibaar, wat ik erg prettig vind. Daardoor verdeelt de foundation makkelijk en werkt het gewoon lekker snel. Ik breng de foundation altijd aan met een bufferkwast of gewoon met mijn vingers. Met de bufferkwast kan ik hem snel in mijn huid werken en dat geeft een mooi effect. De foundation ruikt ook nog eens heel lekker fris en zoetig, naar fruit! Dat past dus wel heel goed bij de naam Healthy Mix.

Wat me opvalt wanneer ik de foundation heb aangebracht is dat mijn huid er heel ‘gezond’ en glanzend er uit ziet. En niet glanzend op een slechte, vette manier, maar op een gezonde ‘healthy glow’ manier. Ik poeder het wel héél lichtjes af, maar niet teveel omdat ik juist dat glansje wel mooi vindt, zeker op een zomerdag. Hij dekt ook vrij goed, wanneer ik de Healthy Mix foundation gebruik, doe ik die ook onder mijn ogen in plaats van concealer. Het dekt erg goed wanneer je het in laagjes opbouwt. Dat betekent dus ook dat je het heel dun kan aanbrengen op je gezicht waardoor het minder dekkend is. Gewoon wat jij wilt.



Op de linker helft van mijn gezicht heb ik de foundation op, recht draag ik niets. Je ziet dat het een erg natuurlijk effect geeft, een beetje glanzend, licht dekkend.

De houdbaarheid vind ik erg oké. De lastige plek op mijn gezicht is mijn neus, die is vrij vettig. Daar glijdt de foundation na een tijdje wel af, maar dat doet helaas elke foundation bij mij. Wanneer ik een basis en een poeder gebruik houdt de Healthy Mix een normale werk/schooldag wel uit, maar als ik daarna ook nog even een dansje ga wagen in de stad, moet ik het wel eventjes bijwerken.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation kost €14,90 voor een flesje van 30 milliliter, wat ik echt een goede prijs vind voor een foundation van deze kwaliteit. Ik vind het een prettige foundation, die fijn aanbrengt, een mooi effect geeft, lang genoeg blijft zitten, lekker ruikt én in een fijne verpakking zit. En dat voor €14,90!

Hey guys, it's time for another review!



"Up to 16h prefectly glowing complexion & toned skin."

"Perfect coverage. Semi-matte finish. Oil free. Tolerance tested dermatologically. Maintains essential skin hydration."

Sounds great! But then every company is going to say that their products are good

The good...

~ Close match to my skintone

~ The smell (though it's not for everyone)

~ No SPF

Half and half shot. I have foundation on the left side of my face.

I really like this foundation! Out of all the foundations/BB creams I own this has the best consistancy. It smells soooo yummy which make it quite enjoyable to apply! I like this foundation so much that I bought a darker shade (55 Dark Beige) so I can mix it together with my other face make up products when I'm more tanned. The coverage is in my opinion is medium (but buildable) which I've started to like lately; since it's summer I want something a little lighter. This foundation does dry to the semi-matte finish which it claims to offer so I only need to powder my nose. And does it "maintain essential skin hydration"? I think it does a pretty good job because it doesn't exaggerate my current flaky skin. The flakiness is not caused by the foundation. It's natural unfortunately :\ I like foundations that's stay looking good throughout my day so the 16 hour part appeals to me. I don't normally wear foundation as long as 16 hours but I can say that it does last and look good until I come home from being out and about after around 8-10 hours.

I can happily say that I would recommend this foundation to most people. People with oily skin can benefit from the semi-matte finish and that it's oil free, whilst dry skinned people can benefit from how this foundation keeps in the skin's moisture. I feel that sensitive skin people may be able to use this product too because this it hasn't affected my eczema. However everyone has different skin so while this foundation my not worsen my skin it may for you ( ^^" )

Product Review - Bourjois Healthy Mix (Chanel Dupe)
For the last 3 years or maybe even 4, I have been completely reliant on MAC Studio Fix Fluid all year round, leaving myself with a very full and reasonably heavy coverage even in the summer months. This year I decided to go for a bit of a change, after being really encouraged by a fair few reviews of Bourjois' latest foundation, Healthy Mix, a much lighter, more moisturising and breathable formula.

I should warn you, this photo may induce nightmares...

First of all let me apologise for a) my absolutely grim skin in the 'before' half of this! I took it just after exams when I was pretty run down, hence the grossness, and b) for my terrible eyebrows! I'm waiting to get them done when I get back home, so trying to not shape them much, however tempting it is to go on a plucking spree!

The foundation itself looks like this:




It's won numerous awards, including Product of the Year, and 10/10 from the Daily Mail, and claims to boost your facial radiance by 70%, a pretty big promise. It contains loads of fruity ingredients like apricot (brightening), melon (hydrating), apple (anti-oxidants) and ginger (toning) which sounds like a recipe good enough to eat!
The final amazing claim that I'd heard on the grapevine was that it was a complete duplicate of Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua, and I have to say I totally agree. I've had three or four samples of the Chanel, after I' d been umming and arr-ing over splurging out on it for ages, but I'm so relieved I waited to discover this option! It's a complete bargain at under £10!

The lighting in my photo is slightly misleading in the colour change that the foundation gives me, as to make me look that tanned when you can see how pale I am originally, would be pretty amazing! That does show though how flatteringly this foundation photographs. I think I'm right in saying it has no (or very little) SPF in it, which is the part of foundation that often photographs with an extremely unflattering finish.
It's the perfect foundation for summer; light but still provides coverage, allowing you to go ever so slightly darker in colour to give a slight tan to your face. It glides on with both fingers and brushes, and it's extremely blendable when concealer is applied over the top for a final touchup. The finish it gives is beautiful, flawless and ever so slightly dewy, giving a very natural look.

I totally reccommend!

I Found A Perfect Foundation Shade Match In Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation!

HANDS UP! Who could not help but find themselves running out to get a bottle of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation after watching Lisa Eldridge’s video on how to create a flawless foundation finish?
When I first watched that video, I was like ‘WOW! This must be the best foundation in the world!’, then on second thoughts, ‘Meh, must be one of those sponsored products… that’s why she’s saying all these nice stuff’. But as the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation got utilized in many of her other videos, coupled with some research done on my own, it seemed the consensus that it’s a must-have drugstore foundation!
I wanted to wait for a sale, as I felt I had more than enough foundation to see me through for a long time, and so… buying another foundation at a sale would help to reduce the guilt of owning one too many. No? *grins*
The 30% off Singapore Tampines BHG sale came at the right time and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation was one of the two Bourjois foundations I purchased. I reviewed the Bourjois Flower Perfection Foundation earlier.
Great Match For Skin With Yellow Undertone

Even though the ‘auntie’ (it’s how we address any older woman in Singapore) was just a promoter at the Bourjois counter, and not a qualified MUA, I was glad she recommended the right foundation shade for me. Some promoters are rather hopeless, they’ll just pour a big glob of foundation on your hand, spread it the length of your arm and say “This also can, that also can. Up to you”. Grrrr.
While the Bourjois Flower Perfection Foundation 52 goes on slightly pink on my skin, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 52 is a perfect match for my MAC NC20-25 skin tone.




I’m surprised a European makeup brand, and despite complaints that the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has limited range of shades, can produce a foundation shade that is so suitable for Asian skin, which typically has yellow undertones.
You can see the Healthy Mix Foundation is more yellow and it fits me to a T!
Oh, recently a friend commented that I look like this:
Must be all that yellow in my skin and hair. LOL! But he also did mention it’s coz I always appear cheerful and smiling.
Plastic Bottle With A Pump

All foundations, or for that matter, all products in liquid or gel form, should come with a pump. Seriously, it’s so hygienic and much easier to get product out!

I like that the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation comes in a fuss-free, light, plastic bottle, which makes it safe for travel and does not take up unnecessary space or weight.
Light to Medium Coverage Foundation

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation might not be ideal for those with severe skin pigmentation or acne scars as its sheer coverage really does not cover much. It does well with minor imperfections and evening out skin tone, but to cover my acne and discoloration, I use a separate concealer.
Currently, I am using the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation, a concealer highly recommended by – you guessed it – Lisa Eldridge!
Easy To Blend And Build

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has a more liquid consistency than the Flower Perfection Foundation and takes slightly longer to dry. Actually, on my skin, it does not dry out at all. It stays at most dewy. You think dewy is good? Read on.
But before I go into that, this foundation is very easy to apply and blend with fingers, quite unlike the MAKE UP FOR EVER Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation, which manages a smooth canvas only with the use of a foundation brush. I, of course, still prefer to use the Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush to apply liquid foundation.
I find that I need 2 pumps of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation instead of the usual 1 pump from other foundations. Its runny consistency and sheer coverage are most probably the reasons why.
A single layer usually provides insufficient coverage for mere mortals like us who struggle with all kinds of blemishes on the skin, so rejoice in the fact that if you’d like one more layer of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, the finish will still be smooth and not cakey or pastey.

Be Careful If You Have Oily Skin!

As mentioned, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation dries looking like I look positively healthy and radiant. It’s the perfect dewy finish any woman would love to sport on her skin.
Must be the ingredients contained – apricot for radiance, melon for hydration, apple for anti oxidant and ginger for energy.

However, that dewy finish turns into oily mayhem by mid-day if I didn’t set it with a powder. I do have to use setting powder on my oily skin for any liquid foundation I use, but the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation tends to oil up more.
Also, the amount of oil churned out and absorbed by an oil-blotting sheet by 3pm is horrendous.
Contrary to what reviews say, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation does not particularly feel lightweight on my skin. No, not at all. It doesn’t feel heavy either though, but I just know it’s there because of the speed at which my skin is reacting to the foundation (oxidizing) and cooking up an oil storm.
If you have oily skin like mine, here are some comparisons with other liquid foundations:
Slightly oilier than Stage Photo Pro Foundation
Oilier than Bourjois Flower Perfection Foundation
Much less oily than Lancôme Maqui Blanc Miracle Foundation
For oily skin, remember to set this foundation with a face powder (I use MAC Blot Powder in Light) and bring blotting sheets along in your bag! I blot just once a day and it’s enough to remove the shine and oil from my face with the use of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation.
Be Careful If You Have Dry Skin!

I thought a foundation this moisturizing would do well for those with dry skin. Imagine my bewilderment when I read plenty of reviews saying that the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is not moisturizing for dry skin at all!
Common issues with this moisturizer are that it blends horribly on dry skin, leaves patches of foundation behind, exposes dry areas, accentuates flakes on the skin, and one must apply loads of moisturizer first otherwise this foundation would cling onto the skin and does so not in a good way.
Of course there are those with dry skin who love this foundation for its moisturizing texture and ability to maintain a dewy finish throughout the day.
Anyone with dry skin who has had experience with this foundation?
My guess is that if you have dry skin, it most probably would dry matte; if you have oily skin, it would drydewy; if you’re in between, a semi-matte finish would be likely.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation VS Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation

After watching Lisa Eldridge’s video, I was bent on getting the Healthy Mix Foundation. But I found out that there is a similar foundation called the Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation, which has received rather good ratings too.
I don’t own the Serum Gel Foundation, but I garner from reviews that it provides even less coverage than the Healthy Mix Foundation. The Bourjois promoter also told me that.
I need higher coverage, always, for those days when I don’t have time to apply concealer, I’d hope a foundation can cover as many blemishes as possible.


I love the great shade match I have with Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation; I only hope it would be less oil-inducing though.

After re-organising my makeup drawer I realised I had three bottles of this foundation. I’ve repurchased quite a few times, which must mean that there’s something special about this foundation.



Luckily enough the three bottles that I own are different shades, so I can give you a good overview of some of the lighter shades in the range. I have 51 Vanille Clair, 52 Vanille and 53 Beige Clair. Clearly 51 is my most used, mainly because it’s the lightest shade and suits me really well during the colder, less sunnier months. When I begin to tan, I move straight on to 53 Beige Clair. I’m not sure why I have 52 Vanille as it’s not a great match at all, but I do use it to mix in with the other foundations.



This foundation has a wonderfully creamy consistency without being runny, and it smells incredibly fruity. It claims to give you a perfectly glowing complexion and toned skin. It does contain a bunch of fruit extracts, from apricot to melon and apple that help the skin as they’re anti-oxidants and provide hydration. Which makes this a great foundation for anybody with drier skin.

It does have a dewy, glow finish, not the best I’ve ever used but it’s definately not matte. A medium coverage foundation, it doesn’t cover the worst of red spots but it does even skintone and doesn’t sink into my large pores.




From top to bottom, it’s 51 Vanille Clair, 52 Vanille and 53 Beige Clair. There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference between 51 and 52, but I can assure 52 is pinkier and ever so slightly darker.



For £9.99 it’s a great, easily available foundation that does what it says on the bottle.

I am so with you on this. I wear stick foundation for better coverage of my acne scars but in the summer it’s too heavy. Bourjois Healthy Mix and Healthy Mix Serum foundations are my everyday liquid foundations for summer. Love. Love. Love.
